Colostrum, the first milk of all mammals, contains large amounts of immunoglobulins, growth factors and other vital substances.

A study by the University of Cologne found that colostrum neutralizes free radicals and activates immune cells without having a cytotoxic effect. The antioxidant effect turned out to be almost as strong as that of L-ascorbate. A decrease in the concentration of radicals was measured when colostrum was added. These test results for colostrum were measured by researchers led by Professor Josef Beuth and communicated by the Institute for the Scientific Evaluation of Naturopathic Procedures.
