Vitamins K (KAL) tablets vegan 100 mcg
Vitamin K – important for blood and healthy bones. Vitamin K is one of the fat-soluble vitamins, it includes a number of compounds, of which only vitamins K1 (phylloquinone) and K2 (menaquinone) are important for humans. The former is mainly found in plants, the latter is formed in the flora of the small intestine . Vitamin K contributes to the synthesis of coagulation factors (e.g. prothrombin VII, IX, X) and is thus directly involved in blood coagulation. Vitamin K is also very important for building the bone system. Vitamin K is directly involved in bone formation and bone health via endogenous proteins, such as osteocalcin, and via functions within the metabolism of calcium.
The main suppliers of vitamin K are mainly found in green leafy vegetables, eg in spinach and in some types of cabbage such as Brussels sprouts, etc., as well as in milk, butter and liver. There are seasonal variations in content, for example in yellow and green leafy vegetables the proportion of vitamin K can be from 50 to 800 mcg per 100 grams.
The additional intake of vitamin K can be interesting due to utilization disorders, for example in osteoporosis, in older women in the menopause, or in chronic gastrointestinal and liver diseases.
Recommended intake: 1 capsule with liquid once a day before a meal, or more by arrangement with a doctor/HP.
