Vitamin D3 is the active hormonal form of vitamin D. Most of the necessary dose of vitamin D3 is obtained by exposing the skin to the sun. The sun activates an inactive form of the vitamin and converts it into a functional hormone. Vitamins D2 and D1, which can be obtained from diet, are much less effective.

The following well-founded health statements are permitted for vitamin D3: Vitamin D3 contributes to the normal absorption/utilization of calcium and phosphorus and calcium levels in the blood. Vitamin D3 contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system, muscle function, cell division, bones and teeth.

A lack of sunlight and the associated low vitamin D3 levels are side effects of most diseases. Chronically low vitamin D3 levels make you depressed, obese and ill over time.

Recommended intake: 1 capsule with liquid once a day before meals, or more as agreed with the therapist.
